When Mel and Brett first emailed me, they described their wedding vision as being intimate and non-traditional. They wanted a setting that was different; one that had character and warmth. So when they experienced the charm of The Loft, they were sold. And we definitely understood why. Their wedding at the Distillery District Loft was beautiful and heart-warming.
They stayed true to their word and focused less on the traditions, and more on what made them happy. They had their “first look” with each other on a dock by the harbour front, and spent a few quiet moments together just soaking it all in as rain softly fell down. We explored the Distillery District with their bridal party for some fun photos, and then headed over to the Loft before guests started to arrive. Their ceremony was small, with only their closest friends and family present, but the room was overflowing with love.
We had the best time with these two. They made our jobs feel effortless (I mean.. look at them) but more than that, they treated us with such kindness from the very beginning of our relationship. After the ceremony ended, we got to spend the rest of the night capturing candid moments of them hanging out with their guests, and may have consumed too many tacos (although Evan says one can never have too many tacos).
